From Liz Cheney

Or is this really from Ms Cheney? How do we tell these days.
'

Dear Democratic Party,
I need more from you.
You keep sending emails begging for $15,
while we’re watching fascism consolidate power in real time.
This administration is not simply “a different ideology.”
It is a coordinated, authoritarian machine — with the Supreme Court, the House, the Senate, and the executive pen all under its control.
And you?
You’re still asking for decorum and donations. WTF.
That won’t save us.
I don’t want to hear another polite floor speech.
I want strategy.
I want fire.
I want action so bold it shifts the damn news cycle — not fits inside one.
Every time I see something from the DNC, it’s asking me for funds.
Surprise.
Those of us who donate don’t want to keep sending money just to watch you stand frozen as the Constitution goes up in flames — shaking your heads and saying,
“Well, there’s not much we can do. He has the majority.”
I call bullshit.
If you don’t know how to think outside the box…
If you don’t know how to strategize…
If you don’t know how to fight fire with fire…
what the hell are we giving you money for?
Some of us have two or three advanced degrees.
Some of us have military training.
Some of us know what coordinated resistance looks like — and this ain’t it.
Yes, the tours around the country? Nice.
The speeches? Nice.
The clever congressional clapbacks? Nice.
That was great for giving hope.
Now we need action.
You have to stop acting like this is a normal presidency that will just time out in four years.
We’re not even at Day 90, and look at the chaos.
Look at the disappearances.
Look at the erosion of the judiciary, the press, and our rights.
If you do not stop this, we will not make it 1,460 days.
So here’s what I need from you — right now:

1. Form an independent, civilian-powered investigative coalition.
I’m talking experts. Veterans. Whistleblowers. Journalists. Watchdog orgs.
Deputize the resistance. Build a real-time archive of corruption, overreach, and executive abuse.
Make it public. Make it unshakable.
Let the people drag the rot into the light.
If you can’t hold formal hearings, hold public ones.
If Congress won’t act, let the country act.
This isn’t about optics — it’s about receipts.
Because at some point, these people will be held accountable.
And when that day comes, we’ll need every name, every signature, every illegal order, every act of silence—documented.
You’re not just preserving truth — you’re preparing evidence for prosecution.
The more they vanish people and weaponize data, the more we need truth in the sunlight.

2. Join the International Criminal Court.
Yes, I said it. Call their bluff.
You cannot control what the other side does.
But you can control your own integrity.
So prove it. Prove that your party is still grounded in law, human rights, and ethical leadership.
Join.
If you’ve got nothing to hide — join.
Show the world who’s hiding bodies, bribes, and buried bank accounts.
Force the GOP to explain why they’d rather protect a war criminal than sign a treaty.
And while you’re at it, publicly invite ICC observers into U.S. borders.
Make this administration explain — on camera — why they’re terrified of international oversight.

3. Fund state-level resistance infrastructure.
Don’t just send postcards. Send resources.
Channel DNC funds into rapid-response teams, legal defense coalitions, sanctuary networks, and digital security training.
If the federal government is hijacked, build power underneath it.
If the laws become tools of oppression, help people resist them legally, locally, and boldly.
This is not campaign season — this is an authoritarian purge.
Stop campaigning.
Act like this is the end of democracy, because it is.
We WILL REMEMBER the warriors come primaries.
Fighting this regime should be your marketing strategy.
And let’s be clear:
The reason the other side always seems three steps ahead is because they ARE.
They prepared for this.
They infiltrated school boards, courts, local legislatures, and police unions.
They built a machine while you wrote press releases.
We’re reacting — they’ve been executing a plan for years.
It’s time to shift from panic to blueprint.
You should already be working with strategists and military minds on PROJECT 2029 —
a coordinated, long-term plan to rebuild this country when the smoke clears.
You should be publicly laying out:
• The laws and amendments you’ll pass to ensure this never happens again
• The systems you’ll tear down and the safeguards you’ll enshrine
• The plan to hold perpetrators of human atrocities accountable
• The urgent commitment to immediately bring home those sold into slavery in El Salvador
You say you’re the party of the people?
Then show the people the plan.

4. Use your platform to educate the public on rights and resistance tactics.
If they’re going to strip us of rights and lie about it — arm the people with truth.
Text campaigns. Mass trainings. Downloadable “Know Your Rights” kits. Multilingual legal guides. Encrypted phone trees.
Give people tools, not soundbites.
We don’t need more slogans.
We need survival manuals.

5. Leverage international media and watchdogs.
Stop hoping U.S. cable news will wake up.
They’re too busy playing both sides of fascism.
Feed the real stories to BBC, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, Reuters, Der Spiegel — hell, leak them to anonymous dropboxes if you have to.
Make what’s happening in America a global scandal.
And stop relying on platforms that are actively suppressing truth.
Start leveraging Substack. Use Bluesky.
That’s where the resistance is migrating. That’s where censorship hasn’t caught up.
If the mainstream won’t carry the truth — outflank them.
Get creative. Go underground. Go global.
If our democracy is being dismantled in broad daylight, make sure the whole world sees it — and make sure we’re still able to say it.

6. Create a digital safe haven for whistleblowers and defectors.
Not everyone inside this regime is loyal.
Some are scared. Some want out.
Build the channels.
Encrypted. Anonymous. Protected.
Make it easy for the cracks in the system to become gaping holes.
And while you’re at it?
Stop ostracizing MAGA defectors.
Everyone makes mistakes — even glaring, critical ones.
We are not the bullies.
We are not the ones filled with hate.
And it is not your job to shame people who finally saw the fire and chose to step out of it.
They will have to deal with that internal struggle — the guilt of putting a very dangerous and callous regime in power.
But they’re already outnumbered. Don’t push them back into the crowd.
We don’t need purity.
We need numbers.
We need people willing to burn their red hats and testify against the machine they helped build.

7. Study the collapse—and the comeback.
You should be learning from South Korea and how they managed their brief rule under dictatorship.
They didn’t waste time chasing the one man with absolute immunity.
They went after the structure.
The aides. The enforcers. The loyalists. The architects.
They knocked out the foundation one pillar at a time —
until the “strongman” had no one left to stand on.
And his power crumbled beneath him.
You should be independently investigating every author of Project 2025,
every aide who defies court orders,
every communications director repeating lies,
every policy writer enabling cruelty,
every water boy who keeps this engine running.
You can’t stop a regime by asking the king to sit down.
You dismantle the throne he’s standing on — one coward at a time.

Stop being scared to fight dirty when the other side is fighting to erase the damn Constitution.
They are threatening to disappear AMERICANS.
A M E R I C A N S.
And your biggest move can’t be another strongly worded email.
We don’t want your urgently fundraising subject lines.
We want backbone.
We want action.
We want to know you’ll stand up before we’re all ordered to sit down — permanently.
We are watching.
And I don’t just mean your base.
I mean millions of us who see exactly what’s happening.
I’ve only got 6,000 followers — but the groups I’m in? The networks I touch? Over a quarter million.
Often when I speak, it echoes.
But when we ALL
speak, it ROARS with pressure that will cause change.
We need to be deafening.
You still have a chance to do something historic.
To be remembered for courage, not caution.
To go down as the party that didn’t just watch the fall — but fought the hell back with everything they had.
But the clock is ticking.
And the deportation buses are idling.

A Parlor Game

Prediction is hard, especially about the future.  It seems obvious to me that the American System has failed and will not be recreated in its flawed but occasionally just form anytime soon.  I doubt that even 10 percent of the American people understand that it is over, the system failed, and they live in a right wing authoritarian country, arguably fascist and a dictatorship.  However this is an opportunity to show off skills.  There are many other shoes to drop.  I invite my friends to suggest some of those shoes which will be obvious to some people only in retrospect.  You should assume that the courts are corrupt at the highest level, that the press is useless and complicit, and that most politicians dont really care, at most pay lip service.  Much of what is easy to predict is not so much an obvious bad thing that has happened, but merely that it is made more public.  For example, it is obvious that the secret police is attacking and deporting people who are legal to be here, but how many of those people are raped in prison and/or murdered.  So one prediction is that this is eventually made public, and that some people voice dismay and outrage, but in fact nothing happens to change the situation.  It will be 50+ years before we know how many people we murdered, if we ever do. I see this as just obvious, the American Republic has murdered innocent people on a regular basis over the decades, although I think it ebbs and flows.  There are a dozen such trivial examples.  Another example is that a pillar of right wing strength will be grotesque gerrymandering to disenfranchise voters.  It is easy to predict that of course the supreme court will take a stand and support this gerrymandering for one stupid pretend reason or another.  The friend who suggests the most of these that have not previously been noted will win an exciting $25 gift certificate from Amazon.

Final Death Blow of the American Republic

I consider the new justices nominated by the racist pig to be the final death blow of the American Republic. The only thing that makes sense is to flee the country or live in a fascist society. This society will not recover for a minimum of 25 years and probably more like 50 or more. There will never be term limits. There will only be fascist judges and a few leftovers. That's it. I hope to flee the country if I can put together the visa and the finances which is, as you know, doubtful. So I will probably die in a fascist dictatorship. It's not that the story ends there: there will be other blows; there will be other compromises; and there will be other failures. But this is a good one and a good place to draw the line. Too bad the rapist pig is also a pedophile but then there was evidence of that all along. What a joke this country is. What a dangerous joke and how many people will get hurt? All because Americans wouldn't stand up for their rights and their freedoms.

The wages of sin are death.

An Interesting Discussion with a Trump Supporter

I enjoyed my conversation at a stoplight with a Trump supporter (30 something, male) in his truck flying a big trump banner.  What I concluded was that as long as people live in a fox news bubble, it will never be possible to change their mind.

To be clear, I am saying that fixing things like Fox News is required, not optional.  If you cant fix it, fine, but do not expect that it will ever be possible to have democracy in this country again.

The Various Failures of the Democratic Party

Part 1 of 3.  Find parts 2 and 3 here, when they are written.

When you have a complete collapse of democracy there is plenty of blame to go around.  But I believe that second only to Trump the Pig, pride of place should go to my party, the Democrats.  Gotta love them, but I dont know any group of people more craven, more self-serving, more self-entitled or more self-deceived as the Democratic Party elites.  Weak and indecisive.  As the singing cowboy, Will Rogers, said: "I belong to no organized political party.  I am a Democrat".

In the last 25 years or so, I have watched the Democratic Party studiously work to fail.  Failure of this nature does not just happen; it takes sincere effort and a desire for excellence.   A willingness to work to the point of pain to demonstrate contempt for their constituency.  Instead of working to educate us, perhaps to show why something was necessary, the Democrat Party ignored its people.  And they kicked the can down the road rather than make a stand on principle.

In contrast, the Republican Party who may be despicable, seem to deliver for their constituency. From "her emails" to Benghazi, to Fox News, to defunding the government, to treason, the Republicans always deliver solid red meat.

This is not hindsight on my part.  I have been waving my arms like a maniac since November 2000 when I went to Washington to protest the Supreme Court coup d'etat.

First there are the policy failures, and second there are specific events where the Democratic Party demonstrated lack of backbone.

On policy, they did not articulate a strong position on immigration.  They abandoned the center of the country to the ravages of a globalized, hollowed out America.  They did not take a strong stand on law enforcement or, for that matter, civil rights.  Always involved in political correctness beyond what most Americans care about.  And of course Biden failed to address inflation and the party lamely said that it did not exist.

Then there are the specific issues or events where they failed to respond to fight and to lead. In no particular order.

The Democrats failed to oppose the ridiculous Supreme Court decision that stole the election from Al Gore who was clearly winning.   They failed to get Merrick Garland onto the Supreme Court.  They failed to prosecute anyone in Wall Street for their malfeasance which led to the 2008 economic collapse. The Democratic party elites attempted to sabotage Sanders and give the nomination to Hilary. They exterminated the political career of Al Franken for no good reason.   Justice Ginzburg should have resigned during the Obama administration.  This was a mistake no Republican would make.  Kavanaugh and Gorsuch and Barrett should never have been permitted on the court. Garland, Smith and the DOJ failed to properly prosecute Trump. The Supreme Court immunity decision was an abomination. This list could be twice as long.  The Democratic party did nothing.

There are some exceptions to this of course.  There are some good Democrats.  AOC and Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders (I love Bernie!) but all too few and they are generally muffled by the Democratic elites.  Technically Bernie is not even a Democrat.

Whatever happens over the next few years or decades as we try to defeat our fascist dictator and his party, and restore democracy to this country, however that happens, one thing seems to be clear.  The Dems will not be a help and have nothing to contribute.  I am sure they will try to take credit later.

Why Hasnt Elon Musk Been Sanctioned by Tesla?

Why hasn't Elon Musk been sanctioned by his shareholders?

"If a CEO is found to have intentionally destroyed shareholder value, they could face legal action from shareholders through a shareholder derivative lawsuit, potentially leading to personal liability, fines, or even removal from their position. The board of directors is responsible for overseeing the CEO's actions and can take steps to remove them if they believe the CEO is not acting in the best interests of the shareholders."  according to Google.

I suspect its another example of the failure of the so-called capitalist or market system.

A Pig Will Always be a Pig

I dont care what he does, he will always be a pig to me.  Instead of honoring Jimmy Carter for whom the flags were half mast, this dickless wonder has to have the flags raised.  He could have made the respect given Carter a part of his speech and been all the better for it.  But that would show class, and this asshole has none.

Nothing has changed, he is still an asshole, but all the more dangerous for what he has learned over the last eight years.

If the people who had voted for Joe Biden in 2020 had voted for the Democrat in 2024, even if they were not all that sure about Kamala Harris, this would not be happening.   He could be the best president in the history of the world, and he won't be, and I will still think he is a pig, because he is.

People get the government they deserve, I have heard.

Harris is Good but the System Still Doesn't Work

Newton said that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In politics, maybe not so much. Maybe the reaction is less than, or maybe it is much greater than the original. Or maybe it is just lasting trauma and despair. Maybe it is lack of trust. Maybe people will feel that they have learned their lesson, and if those-that-rule want us to shut-up-and-do-as-they-say then maybe people, or some people, will say "No, fix this first or go away". And that is the situation I think we find ourselves in.

I dont think this is totally new. When this country was created, it was done without the consent of the governed as that consent was manufactured. For more information, read about the way our constitution was created and accepted.  And even with that non-consent consent there were unacceptable compromises. Since then, system after system the country put in place have failed. There are many possible reasons for these systems to fail but the one I subscribe to is that certain fundamental requirements for these to work, such as fair elections or a judiciary that that will rule based on law and not to achieve a political goal, are no longer in place.  People in power thought they could get away with it and they were wrong.  Besides, its 2024, its not 1960 anymore.  The old excuses are not acceptable.

Consider.  The supreme court is wildly out of control. There are no plans to fix it. Voting rights? Citizens United? Perjure yourself to the senate to be approved? Wild corruption and failure to obey the law of reporting gifts? A get out of jail free card for Trump?  Abortion no longer "settled law"?  Legislating from the bench? So, no supreme court.

The DOJ failed to hold that felon Donald Trump to account. Mobsters take note. Trump killed many more people than Gambino.

We are being victimized by people with money who are fascists and weirdos. Musk, Murdoch, Koch, Mellon.  Congress cant even pass a budget. The impeachment mechanism has failed.  Sheriffs go around making lists of those who will not support Trump so they can be attacked. Gestapo tactic, sure why not. And nothing is done about this. The FBI and Homeland security does nothing about Russian Influence. They are totally impotent. The Right sucks up to Putin and Orban.

So lets say Harris wins in spite of the Supreme Court.  Does that fix anything?  Does that reassure me that the system is better now so don't worry?  Sure its better than a stick in the eye, but should I be grateful that our system did not put a felon and a mentally disturbed fascist into power?  A person who was impeached twice?  A person who is guilty of what is sometimes called rape?  Really, you are proud that you defeated this weirdo?

No, the system has a long way to go to repair this nonsense and frankly I dont think it is up to it.  That is what I think.

[Because I say these things, my blog is marked as a hate site and blocked by many right wing ISPs apparently.  ]

Anarchy, Oligarchy and Tyranny c/o The Financial Times

The Financial Times has a good article on the failure of the American Republic using analogies to the Greek political science terms of anarchy vs oligarchy vs tyranny.  You can read the entire article here (although it may be behind a paywall).

https://www.ft.com/content/a7eea0af-bf9f-4635-812b-271c30620e72

Here are two paragraphs that I thought were entertaining:

The anarchy can seem fun, at least for a while. With some luck, chaos can bring political fruit. At a convention, where one spectacle soon displaces the next, these different guises of democratic collapse can give one another cover. The strongman act of Trump and Vance distracts from their blatant dependence on the wealthy. Their threat to deport migrants shrouds the reality that none of the relevant oligarchs was born in the US, that Trump married two migrants and that Vance married the daughter of migrants.

In practice, though, the Republicans’ anti-republic is contradictory. The different variants of repression can be equally celebrated so long as they are all directed against an imagined enemy. But the plan to fire tens of thousands of civil servants (anarchy) would get in the way of deporting millions of people (tyranny). As the billionaires claim power ever more openly (oligarchy), they put pressure on the aspiring authoritarians who are supposed to be the strongmen (tyranny). The people who want a strongman don’t want him to be a puppet. Signs of strain were certainly evident at the convention.

Reasons Why the Democrats Will Lose in 2024

I am convinced that the Democrats will lose the White House in 2024.  Not everyone agrees with this pessimistic assessment.  But in this post I will go over some of the reasons why I think this is so.

Of course "prediction is hard, especially about the future" and I could be wrong, and let there be no doubt that a second Trump administration would be the end of democracy in this country.  A right wing fascist society and a great victory for Putin.  Death to NATO and death to Ukraine.  The decline of America accelerated by an order of magnitude.  So Democrats will vote for Biden, right?  Maybe not.

Consider some of the fuckups of the last few years.  The Democratic Party controlled the White House and both houses of Congress but could not be bothered to fix the supreme court because ... because ... oh just because.  They could have passed an amendment to do something about the electoral college or keep the supreme court from throwing elections but they didnt because ... you know.  The Department of Justice threw away two full years to start the process to bring Trump to justice but they failed to even start until they were practically forced to and now its too late.  Trump will be reelected and that will be the end of that.  They knew something was up with the classified documents long before they acted.  They could have passed something to protect abortion rights but they didnt.  They could have reinforced voting rights but they didn't.  They could have started the ball rolling on repealing Citizens United but they didn't.  They could have passed legislation to help protect Europe from insanity by Republicans whether or not Trump gets reelected.  Those traitors are sure to be in the White House one day and Putin will be cheering.

Most of all they refused to listen to their base who begged them to do something, anything, and they refused to act.  So pick your favorite issue that they failed on and ask yourself why people should vote to continue this shitshow when the loyal Democratic base is ignored.  Some people will pick Israel (long before Gaza), some people will pick the Supreme Court, some people will pick the rule of law as it applies to rich people.  The point is, whatever you believe in, the Democrats let you down.  The Democratic Party elite is relying on the Democratic Party base to look beyond all that and keep on voting no matter what because ... well because Trump, and that is not a bad reason, but the fact is that we are tired of that.  How about our representatives do something for a change?  But they have failed to listen in the past, should we believe that will change going forward?  Why?

Poor little Democrat donkey doesnt know what hit it.

"Strongmen" by Ben Ghiat

The following book by Ben-Ghiat is an excellent discussion of the history of several prominent autocracies since Mussolini.  In particular it goes over how the Trump administration and playbook resembles Gaddafi, Pinochet, Mussolini, Berlusconi, Putin and so forth.

America may think it is different than the others but this book argues otherwise.

The 14th Amendment and the Supreme Court

Whichever way the degenerate and illegitimate "supreme court" rules is good. If it rules against the 14th amendment, then we all know the constitution is a joke. This amendment could not be more clear and the evidence that Trump led an insurrection against the USA is about as good as any prosecution could ask for. But if they rule in favor of the 14th, then we have right wing nutty boy states like Texas who will remove Biden from the ballot because ... because ... you know, socialism! immigration! It doesnt matter. The reality is that the supreme court is degenerate and has no legitimacy and democracy is dead in this country. Say hi to the Fuhrer.

For those who have asked, yes I created the above picture with Midjourney.  It is not perfect but it is OK for the specific purpose which is the point, I think.

I Have no Faith in the People

At the end of the day there are some things that have happened and its hard to see that the relationship between the people and this country and its government can ever be the same.

No matter what I think or how things turn out with Trump I have to accept that a large number of Americans approve of that pig and dont think that any of the fundamental principles that I keep hearing about matter. The evidence that Trump is a criminal who tried to steal the election and who is undermining faith in this country for his own selfish purposes is as clear as it could be. Yet Americans, many Americans, love it. And they are racist. And they dont mind destroying national security as long as they get their pig and force policies down the throat of the majority of Americans. They dont give a fuck.

The electoral college still exists. It is completely plausible that the pig might win or steal the next election. Biden has done a good job but his numbers dont show it. If Trump becomes president again you can kiss your quasi democracy goodbye.

I have no faith in these people and it can never be forgiven. I am very disappointed.

Why People are so Angry

A certain number of people in this country have given up on the system ever being minimally functional at protecting our rights against gross abuse by the right.  I am not talking about transexual bathroom rights, we are talking about an attempt to overthrow the govt of the united states.  And of course it turns out what we have long believed, that the DOJ did not want to find the truth in the matter and see which laws were broken and by whom.

People need to understand that at this point all loving understanding is gone.  We have been abused by the right for not less than 23 years with extralegal attacks on our constitution and our government.

We want law enforcement to abide by and enforce the law.

"White Innocence" is a New Term of Art

draft

I learned a new term the other day: white innocence.  It refers to those white people who are so dumb as to be constantly surprised in the right wing dictatorship their naivete has helped to bring about.  Roe v Wade gone, oh!  No more voting rights?  Oh!  Citizens United?  Oh!  Maybe Kavanaugh wont vote to destroy abortion rights!

White people, dumb as a rock.

Mitch laughs at you, you know.

Legitimacy Sequence Start

draft

Start of a series of blog  posts on legitimacy of government and government authority.

The issues of what makes a government "legitimate" are controversial or at least strongly contested.  Governments can sometime sustain huge controversies, disasters and failures but still keep going for years, decades or centuries.  Citizens generally understand that there are problems, maybe even huge problems, but for many reasons decide to shrug them off.  Some people will protest, some people will work for change, some people may plot or try revolution but generally the ship of state moves forward.  This being so, some parties and factions believe that they can commit any crime and abuse any principle of government and get away with it.  In spite of these abuses, the legitimacy of the government, though lessened perhaps, is still sufficient and everyone moves on.

But this is a dangerous game, this flouting of principles and the law, because sometimes a formerly stable yet imperfect government, after years of abuse, does one more thing or has one more disaster that is self-inflicted and then, suddenly and unexpectedly, the whole thing unravels.   In at least three well-documented cases (the monarchy of France before the 1789 revolution, Imperial Russia under the Romanovs and the February Revolution, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1988-1991), none of the participants particularly expected the fall of the existing regime.  It was a surprise and in each case for many people a catastrophe.

Therefore, do not be so proud, America.  Things have been stewing beneath the surface for decades, and the trainwreck of the recent 5 years was not an accident and what happens next should not be a surprise.   Lets review some recent case studies.

Swine After Pearls

draft

Dear REDACTED,

I understand now, "hate speech" means calling for freedom in an obviously corrupt and failed republic with an illegitimate government. Didnt they teach you at Harvard that the little people dont like to be condescended to? Some of them wont have it. I sincerely hope that you and your family experience the full impact of the right wing theocratic dictatorship that your actions and the actions of, dare I say it, weak people like you have brought about. The republicans are who they are, its the weakness and the stupidity of the democrats that have brought this about. So many people will be hurt because of "your" inaction and fantasies. I, no doubt, will be put in prison for my so-called hate speech and murdered there by our security forces, as has happened to people like me so often in our country's past.

Good luck to you.

I am Shocked! Shocked!

draft

I wonder how many democrats will figure out that this mishigas, Roe v. Wade, is 100% the democrats fault? The Dems could have prevented this anytime in the last 20 years. With a little luck this will mean the end of the democratic party as we know it. I have heard people talk about how since their vote doesnt matter and that since lots of people will die over this, why not take out a few senators and justices (so called) too? They are just blowing smoke. Americans are slaves and its time they realized it.

I like this article.

The Door to Hell Will be Opened

draft

They say that anticipation is the very heart of suspense.  First the author signals that something horrible is going to happen but then he or she makes us wait.  Wait until the teenager goes into the basement.  No!  Dont go into the basement!  Wait while the teenager considers the Door to Hell.  Wait while the idiot opens the Door to Hell.  But it is too late, at this point it is foretold, and the door to hell is going to be opened.  You can not stop the door to hell from being opened.   Things have gone too far.

And so my fellow democrats and so called progressives, I am here to tell you that it is too late, it has been foretold and the time to act has come and gone.  The "50 Year Reich" will now begin.  The door to hell will be opened.  We could have stopped this particular hell, perhaps, if our leaders had led and the people had wanted to take action. But they didnt.    Too much trouble I guess.  Didnt want to be bothered, I guess.  Hail Victory!

It irritates me that time after time over the last 20 years or so, our elites and elected representatives denied reality and refused to do anything about the rather obvious process going on, and recounting all the ways is just too tiresome for me.

But briefly, and just recounting a few recent events and then looking forward.  The Justice Department has refused to hold Trump and his goons accountable.  The supreme court has destroyed the voting rights act.  Republicans have destroyed fair elections in the states they control.  That means that the Republicans will win the senate and the house back in the midterms no matter how the people vote.  That means that the electoral college, which is dependent on elections in states in a winner-take-all fashion,  will install a Republican as president no matter who actually wins the election.  That means that the supreme court will continue to be twisted by the Republicans.  Repeat.

So its over.

So much for trying to work with the Republicans, eh?

Surprise! Limp Democrats Fail to Uphold Justice
